National NeighborWorks® Week, June 7-14 2008
As a member of the NeighborWorks® America organization, Mid Central Community Action participates in National NeighborWorks® Week. Each year, member organizations mobilize volunteers to beautify their community in a number of different ways. This year, MCCA is concentrating on painting and planting in a neighborhood on the west side of Bloomington.
The 7th Annual Awards Ceremony and Dinner was held on May 1, 2008, at the Bone Student Center, Illinois State University. Awards were presented to clients and community partners, as well as employees who received awards for years of service.
May 26, 2005 - the former Beich candy factory burns to the ground
The abandoned building that was once the Beich candy factory fell victim to fire on May 26, 2005. A fire, lit by teenagers playing in the building, became out of control. The resulting fiery inferno smouldered for days after the fire was extinguished.
