Down payment grants financed through the Illinois Housing Development Authority Trust Fund
“Your Link to Home Ownership”The Illinois Housing Development Authority has awarded Mid Central Community Action, Inc. (MCCA) with funds to provide down payment and closing cost assistance to residents in McLean, Livingston, Ford, Piatt, DeWitt, Logan, Tazewell, and Woodford Counties, Illinois. The assistance is in the form of a five year forgivable loan. Applicants must meet HUD income eligibility requirements and qualify for a loan from a participating lender.
Who is eligible?
Any individual who is qualified based on the general program guidelines and is a first time home buyer within McLean, Livingston, Ford, Piatt, DeWitt, Logan, Tazewell, and Woodford Counties, Illinois.

- Meet the income guidelines
- Be a first time home buyer
- Contribute $1000.00 to the purchase of the home
- The property must be within McLean, Livingston, Ford, Piatt, DeWitt, Logan, Tazewell, and Woodford Counties, Illinois
- The property must be a single family dwelling

How do you apply?
The first step is to contact a participating lender and set up an appointment to be pre-qualified or pre-approved for a loan. At that time, you need to let them know you are interested in information about the Affordable Housing Coalition.
The lender will give you information about the program and determine if you meet the income requirements. They will then prepare the required documents for the Coalition.
When you are ready to purchase a home, we suggest making an offer contingent upon the approval of down payment assistance from the Central Illinois Coalition for Affordable Housing.
