Home Buyer Education

We offer a choice of methods for you to complete your home buyer education requirements. Firstly, our HUD-certified housing counselors facilitate an eight hour class, giving borrowers knowledge on purchasing property and sustaining their property. Borrowers are given materials and methods on budgeting and credit, how to shop for a mortgage loan, how to shop for a home and how to maintain their home and finances after a purchase.

Secondly, potential home owners can also choose to complete their home buyer education online through eHome America, a NeighborWorks® America certified provider. Simply use the pull down menu to choose your State and the county you live in. After securely paying your registration fee, you will be able to complete the course online.

Provided other qualifications are met, completion of either class entitles a family to a downpayment assistance grant. (See Downpayment Assistance page)
