Financial Literacy (Livingston County)

(Livingston County only)

http://www.flickr.com/photos/80535871@N00Financial literacy is a necessity in today’s complicated world of debit cards and on-line banking. Having it is a skill which can help low-income people achieve self sufficiency.

Our new program is reaching out to junior high and high school aged youth to help them prepare to manage money. We are working through the schools, the Boy’s & Girl’s Club, and other local agencies to help youth develop some basic budgeting skills and be sure they have information on money management. In addition we want to reach out to parents and the community with information on financial literacy that may help them guide their children as they begin to make choices about spending.
