CDV works closely with local law enforcement offices and the McLean County State’s Attorney’s Office to enhance the victim’s access to the legal system through Domestic Violence Units. Trained Court Advocates provide information of legal rights, explain court procedures, and assist with protective orders and support victims through the court process. CDV Victim Advocates work closely with local law enforcement officers to contact victims of domestic violence to provide support and inform them of community services and legal rights.

The Illinois AVN system is a service through which victims of crime can use the telephone or internet to search for information regarding the custody and case status of their offender and to register to receive telephone and email notification when the offender’s custody or court status changes. The toll-free number for the Illinois AVN system is (866) 566-8439. This service is provided to assist victims of crime who have a right to know about their offender’s custody and case status.
